By Ulmus Jun 26, 2017#1 I've been thinking about this knife since it came out. I was holding out until I saw a flash sale on Amazon for it and was bummed about letting it pass. Then my wife asked why I didn't buy it. After watching hours of video reviews I ordered one. I'll give a review when I get get it in the mail.

 And I found one right by the Hedge today. I knew I shoulda kept it. :grin1:
It's great for all the "little stuff" for hiking and camping. Paracord cutting, stake making, toggles, feather sticks, things like that.
The large curve in ratio to the short straight edge makes it a great carver. I can easily see spoons and maybe even a cup or bowl being made.
The spine is killer on ferro rods! I tried it out and you don't need anywhere near the force to get some massive sparks. It slides so well it even smooths out the hesitation digs from earlier knives and strikers. :shocked1:
I can easily see shifting 75% of knife chores to the Eldris while using a larger blade for wood splitting and fish cleanng.
I bet you could skin with the Eldris though.

Jun 30, 2017#4 Actually sounds like a handy secondary knife. When I first saw it I thought it might be difficult for batoning.

What amazes me is how good a carver it is. This is a whittler's dream knife. I've never had so much control with a knife when it comes to woodwork. The short, fat blade with the almost full sized handle really lets you steer this thing into what you want done.
