Some people are linked to their gun:
John Wayne with his 92 Winchester Skeeter Skelton's Flat top 44 John McClane's Berretta Doc Wesson's Remington R51
Of all the firearms in your collection which one would you like people to point and say, "Yeah. that's his/her gun."

I suppose that it would have to be this Marlin(JM stamp) model 1894 .44 magnum. I have carried it on countless hikes on trails and woodlands, including the Appalachian Trail in Eastern Pennsylvania. I take it deer hunting but it is not my only deer rifle, but as I have aged I like it more in the thick terrain and because it is the lightest deer rifle that I own. Very, very accurate.

It would have to be my Pre-64 Winchester Model 94.

By Whichfinger I guess it would be my 10/22, because it doesn't look like every other 10/22 in the world. It's mine.

By Dangerranger The one I'd like to be remembered with is a Marlin 25 That I have hunted, competed, and taught all the kids to shoot with. Its very accurate and durable. and Its still my go to Rabbit and Squirrel gun. That's it on top. But that's not the one most likely to be associated with me when I'm gone. That will probably be this one. I bought it as a wreck, its a 1915 Stevens Favorite. it is the one gun that everyone wants to shoot! and its accurate! DR

Is that the one on which you relined the barrel?

Thanks! Since I took that pic, I've added a surplus barrel band with a bayonet lug. Looks even more like a real M1 carbine.

I always sort of wanted a Stevens Favorite and I found one a couple of years ago at a nearby gun store but the thing was pretty much clapped out and he wanted way too much money for it. I wish someone would start making them again at a reasonable price. I'd pay $400-$500 for a new one, but any more than that is just too much money for a single-shot plinker.

I'd pick my Rough Rider 22. It set everything in motion.

Savage does still make the Favorite. The new guns are much stronger. they also come in 22 Mag, and 17 Mag. DR

By Whichfinger Gunbroker, $649. www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =543539059 Again, IMO that's too much for a single shot plinker. I imagine there are plenty of shooters who would pay the premium for nostalgia, but it's just not worth it to me.
