A couple of days ago I finally got the chance to work on my Big Bore and replace the broken spring that works the transfer bar. I figure it shouldn't be that hard. After all, I have the exploded parts diagram to help me. It shows where it needs to go.
Wrong. :shocked1:
I look at the cylinder hand post and see it's different from the one in the diagram. There is no cut-out for the spring. I can't see where the heck it goes?
Anyone have any ideas?

By Ulmus Oct 31, 2012#3 I was kinda afraid of that. Unfortunately the gun is apart, but here's the pics of the parts I was talking about. This pic shows the trigger and transfer bar group, the hammer and the cylinder turn arm, and the spring is in the lower middle. Here's the other side without the spring. See the cylinder turn/lifter part attatched to the hammer? (Silver part) The schematics show it supposed to have a hole cut out to attach the spring to it. I don't see it. I also wanted to show you the "wear mark on the transfer bar itself.

I figure that's where the spring meets and moves the bar. I don't know if it will help, but here are some pics of the frame as well. Here's the link to the PDF of the owner's manual that has the schematic. heritagemfg.com/site/pdf/bbManual.pdfBTW: What is that dual spring placed under the trigger spring in the frame? Nov 01, 2012#5 I just checked Pietta's website to see if they could help at all. They didn't have an "exploded" diagram, but they did have a picture of all the varrious springs and such. Unfortunately they won't let you show the pic, so I did it as a link. www.pietta.us/products/Accessori ... ss_03.html I'm wondering if the spring is supposed to be like the one pictured in the 7 O'Clock position.

Unfortunately none of those linked have a transfer bar[TB]. The pic of your frame has a long spring sticking up, could that be the spring that holds your transfer bar in place? I'm asking because the TB has a wear pattern that seems to match that spring in its back side. DR

Nov 02, 2012#7 I noticed that as well. I'mnot sure if that is the right spring or not?
I e-mailed Heritage to find outout.).(I threw in a link to this post to help them understand what I was talking ab Hopefully I'll get a response soon.

Nov 08, 2012#8 Just an update. I called Heritage today to see if they got my e-mail and was told that they were going to have one of their engineers/gunsmiths talk to me tomorrow and help me out with finding the right part.
How cool is that!

Nov 27, 2012#9 Update. It's been a few weeks of frustration followed by a little bit of self pride. I got a call saying they'd call the next day, but never did. I got distracted for a few days, then called back and left a few messages. (At this point it was Thanksgiving.) Called on Monday and found out the person I had been conversing with was out sick and that they only had one other person working th help desk. She pulled up the schematics on her computer and did her best to try and help. (All this with the factory going full tilt.) I asked about the gunsmith and was told that they had gotten slammed with over 200 orders in the last three days alone, so there wasn't one available to talk to. So, knowing that the only thing stopping me from fixing this gun is one ellusive part, I asked for a shipping label.
No problem
I got it today and will beshipping it out to them tomorrow or Thursday. Yes I will have to pay to have it shipped back. (It's out of warranty, after all) I will alo have to pay for what ever that wierd little spring costs.
For the record, I checked online for all pietta products looking for that spring and could not find it. Not even on their main company site.
Now for the good part. I put my gun back together. This is after taking it apart for the first time three weeks ago and letting it sit. It was through the help of Danger Ranger's post on dissasemby.
Thank you Danger Ranger!!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:   :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
That post along with the schematics in the manual helped me put everything back where it belongs correctly. The trigger has its clean crisp pull, the cylinder rotates in time, everything works right except for the transfer bar which is why I was working on the gun in the first place. If it wasn't for you, DR, I would've never attempted it.
So ther it is. On one hand I'm annoyedthat I couldn't get the part to fix my big bore, but on the other, I did figure out what was wrong, tried to fix it, put it back together correctly, and got a shipping label to ship it back.
I just don't want to think how long its going to take to get fixed.

Nov 28, 2012#11 I just got an e-mail from Pink Pearl. appologizing for the latenss of her replies, and more importantly that ther is a pin that stops the transfer bar from flopping around. That's what's missing and not a spring. Given that I can't even see wher this tiny-tiny hole is in the frame for the thing, i still sending it in. Turn around time shouldn't be too bad. (cross fingers) I'm just glad they know what the problem is and I still want to know about that spring under the trigger spring.
Also felt damn cool today knowing I put the gun back together correctly. That built confidence.
