The ammo is inexpensive. You can go to the range more and shoot longer. The super low recoil help with follow up shots and keeping you on target. You get so used to the balance and the handling of it that it becomes second nature You become confident in your shots and your ability to make the shot. You enjoy owning the gun.

Nah. I was just remembering all the members at the old site who owned just their R.R. either due to being new to firearms or finances. Some were pressed in to home protection service.

My RR is my only gun right now, but I have 3 cylinders for it !!! and lots of ammo. When I started metal detecting , that gave me a need for some cash ! I had 30 different guns at one time, but those days are long gone. But still have the memories , lol. too

I find it interesting how the Rough Rider basically set my collection. The only semi auto I have now is a 1911.

I love single actions, I have a "mess". That is a real Southern word, by the way. Like ulmus, I'm not really a semi auto guy. A couple of 1911's, a Ruger MkIII .22LR, a Walther P-1 (post war P-38) as part of my military collection, my late Dad's Colt Model 1903, and my latest pocket carry, a Ruger LCP2.
When we got our little farm in the wooods in 1996, the only gun I had was a Colt 45 Auto. The very first gun I bought for farm duty was a Marlin Model 60 rifle, 22LR. The SECOND gun I bought was a Heritage 6.5". This was back when one with both cylinders was $129 + tax. I still have it, I still carry it around the homestead sometimes. Most often, the Rough Rider 3.5" Birdshead with magnum cylinder is in the back packet of my jeans when out doing chores. An excellent working gun. The latest gun I bought, last year, was a Rough Rider 4.75", just because I wanted it. She's sweet!!!!
