I have two new RR 22lr and am curious to find out if any body has any wide b/c gaps on their guns. Mine are about .012 or so, and that seems big to me. Heritage won't tell me what the specs are, can I get some feed back from you guys? I measured the gap with feeler gauges with the hammer down and the cylinder pushed all the way back against the frame. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Aug 17, 2016#2 It's always been my understanding that the hammer should be cocked when checking the cylinder/forcing cone gap. What are you getting with the hammer cocked?

Like he said the hammer should be back enough to be sure the firing pin is not interfering with the cylinder. Ruger once told me that they wanted between .004 and .012 measured between the forcing cone and cylinder face. They did not think that .015 was excessive. DR
