I'd love to have a brass grip frame on my Heritage RR. Anybody ever try to have one plated?

Jul 24, 2014#3 Any chrome shop should be able to do it for you! Send us pic's when its done. You will also want to have the grip screws plated at the same time. You will also want to be sure after the polishing is done that it hasn't changed the way the grips fit. Good luck DR

Jul 24, 2014#4 I assume all the grip frames are aluminum. Does anyone know what the silver satin finish consists of? I might just order a grip frame from Heritage for this project. I could strip a regular (black) frame down to bare metal, then copper plate it before brass plating it. However, if the silver satin finish is chrome, I can brass plate that directly (after cleaning.)

Oct 01, 2017#6 Maybe Heritage could offer this as an option. I love the brass grip frame look on a single action.
Almost any grips look good with brass. Aluminum can be anodized a gold color or maybe Cerakote in brass.

Oct 02, 2017#7 I'd love to see this, but doubt it will happen. Automotive batteries for the new electric cars are causing heavy demands for copper and brass, pushing up the prices.

Oct 19, 2018#9 Looks great to me. I have an airbrush, need to research paints.
I think there is some brass paint for model train locos that can be baked on.
