Where did you remove the metal from?
How well do the screws fit now?
And where did your front sight go?

Apr 02, 2012#18 All five screw holes were out of alignment. The metal was removed from the screw holes. I have a lot of experience in this sort of thing. It would be easy to remove too much metal and leave the screws with no ledge to tighten against. I would not recommend doing this if you are not experienced. The screws fit perfectly now. My old eyes can no longer focus on sights such as they were. I am in the process of making some sights I can see. You can tap the front blade off with a hammer. If you are interested in modifying sights make sure you do not remove any metal from the top of an aluminum receiver - it might weaken enough to crack.

Apr 02, 2012#19 I'm not a fan of the birds head grip, but I gotta admit -- that looks pretty cool. :goodjob:
